B-GIRL BE CALL FOR DANCERS

Program:
Deadline:
Friday, July 30, 2010

This year will feature a hip-hop dance performance September 2- 5th. We are accepting video submissions and holding an open call for hip-hop dancers and choreographers that would like to be part of the show. The show is for hip-hop dance ONLY, old school, new school, most importantly TRUE school. Hip-hop pieces should be 2-5 minutes in length and can be solo or group performances. All styles of hip-hop dance are welcome. This show is aiming to showcase female hip-hop dancers and choreographers with hip-hop dance styles representing past, present, and future. If you feel your style falls under these categories we want to see you!

Freestylers – Cipher Show- September 4thth 10PM
In addition to our show featuring hip-hop choreography, we are having a special Saturday night show featuring the true spirit of hip-hop dance – The Cipher. This show will feature freestylers doing their thing on the dance floor with a live DJ and drummers. This show is to let the audience in on the raw energy and excitement that only the cipher can produce. The Cipher show allows those that shine on the dance floor as freestylers to be represented. So start practicing now! Please note, dancers can be part of both shows. If you are interested in ONLY doing the Cipher Show please indicate that with your video submission or let us know at the open call audition.

Submissions

Please make sure your musical choices will be appropriate for an ALL AGES audience. This is a celebration of women in hip-hop, however male/female choreographic collaborations and male dancers as part of the group are welcome to be part of the show. Although completed pieces would be ideal for your video submission, we will accept videos of “works in progress”, as long as it shows your style and ability to produce a full length piece.
