Using What You Got: Interactive Performance Storytelling is a 3-week workshop that will teach participants a new way to see and hear story and how to use empathy as a tool in the creation of their work. Participants will learn how to use theater games and improv to create text and movement for their performance, and to consider how they engage the audience in their work and consider them as participants in the process. They will learn how weave together their various inputs: experiences, memories, senses, to communicate their ideas, no matter if their text takes the shape of a novel, a poem, a dance, a monologue or a series of songs, allowing the artists/writers to consider their multiplicity as creator of work, and their relation to the community they create it in and for.
