Mid-Year Report to Our Community: Our First Six Months!

We are so proud to share the great accomplishments we have made at Intermedia Arts in the first six months of our fiscal year FY10!

Our ability to serve artists, audiences and youth, and to build community partnerships is running at full strength. Over the last six months Intermedia Arts has served 644 artists, 826 youth and 11,785 adult participants and has partnered with 38 local arts and community organizations. Wow.

Financially this fiscal year has been a very strong one for us. We have continued to meet our goals for fundraising while building our cash reserves. This has allowed us to put our focus on our mission, artists and programming, building our board, raising our visibility and identifying new donors.

As of January 4, 2010, Intermedia Arts has a staff of 5.75 full-time employees. We have added three new board members through our merger with Phillips Community TV, and our gallery is not only back open Monday-Friday, but will also be open on Saturdays throughout the summer. We know you will be very excited about the upcoming exhibitions and programs we have planned for our community!

We are quite proud to announce that Intermedia Arts has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Twin Cities LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) to conduct a feasibility study for greening our building. We are currently working with MS&R architects to conduct that study.

In addition, Intermedia has also been recognized for our outstanding response to last year's economic crisis by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, which has awarded us a $20,000 Resilient Organization Fund grant to be used for re-branding, marketing and launching an individual giving campaign this fall.

Intermedia Arts is also exploring an Arts Hub co-working model for artists and organizations dedicated to social innovation to work, collaborate and present at Intermedia Arts.  More news and updates on that coming your way over the next few months!

Thanks to all of you who have supported and believed in us over these past 12 months. We couldn't have accomplished any of this without you.
